What’s an Indie Movie?
Recently, Eric Gozlan of Gold Rush Entertainment and Lee Clay finished producing an “indie” film called “Beautiful Boy.” Not everyone knows Hollywood slang, and it’s important to understand terms used in the industry. So, what does the term “indie” mean?
Indie stands for independent and means that the film was made outside of the mainstream studios. This usually means that it has a lower budget than do some major films made by the major studios. It often also indicates a film that is a bit off the beaten path and one that may express some interesting filming and techniques.
